The long-lasting rift between two former teammates Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Strauss seems to have finally ended as the right-handed batsman took to Twitter and said that there is no more tension between him and director of cricket in the country after Strauss’s wife was diagnosed with cancer. Strauss had to rush home from the ongoing Ashes Down Under to be with his wife.
Strauss and Pietersen have not been on good terms for a long time now, going back to 2012 when Pietersen sent the South African provoking message about Strauss which eventually ended in his retirement right after his 100th Test against the Proteas.
Strauss was then elected as the director of cricket in the country after which Pietersen never played for the England team. Pietersen has been very verbal while criticizing English cricket on social media and especially the management for some of their decision making.
Last week itself, after Ben Duckett was suspended he called his former team an “f****** embarrassment!”. However, after Ruth Strauss, wife of Andrew news of being diagnosed with cancer came out in media Pietersen took to Twitter to console his former teammate and his family and wrote, “Here ends ANY tension I may have with Andrew Strauss.
What he’s going through with his family puts life into perspective.
Thinking of the Strauss family!”

Earlier an ECB spokesperson confirmed the news of his wife’s health and said:
“His family need Andrew’s full support at this time,”
