Former England skipper, Kevin Pietersen has urged Rashid Khan to go all guns blazing in Afghanistan’s maiden Test match against India. Pietersen had delivered an inspirational speech at the MAK Pataudi memorial lecture a couple of days back.
In fact, Pietersen had become the first foreign player to give the MAK Pataudi lecture. The former flamboyant batsman had talked about the preservation of the Test cricket.
Furthermore, Rashid was all impressed with the motivational speech of the former English captain. Pietersen had talked about ways to preserve the purest form of the game. Moreover, Kevin had raised his concerns over the dip in the class of red ball form.
Meanwhile, Rashid Khan is one of the best leg-spinners in the shortest format of the game. The mystery spinner had received high praise from none other Sachin Tendulkar during the IPL as well.
Rashid had scalped 21 wickets in the 17 matches for the runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad. Thus, the Afghan linchpin was able to bamboozle the best batsmen in the world. Furthermore, he conceded his runs at an economy of 6.74. Therefore, he didn’t let the batsmen off the hook.
Meanwhile, Kevin Pietersen received a positive response from the cricketing world for his fine speech. Pietersen was right on the money with his analysis and his deep knowledge of the game.
Moreover, the former stylish batsman talked about the marketing of the Test form and how we can make the game better for the future generation.
Rashid Khan took to Twitter to appreciate Kevin Pietersen for his motivational speech. The 19-year old player post read as, “A very comprehensive lecture, full of motivation and encouragement it was a learning platform for me @KP24 ??????”.
