Khaleel Ahmed, left-arm pace bowler, has revealed him dismissing India and Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper last year as the favorite moment of the IPL.

Ahmed, who claimed the highest number of wickets [19 wickets in 9 games] for his Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise in the 2019 edition of the cash-rich league, still relished the moment when he dismissed the legendary Virat Kohli

After Bhuvneshwar Kumar sent Parthiv Patel packing, Khaleel Ahmed, who shared the new ball, was taken to the cleaners by Kohli, stroking him for a four and a six.

“My favourite IPL moment is Virat bhai’s wicket last season. He had hit me for a four off the first delivery of my over and then he hit me for a six off the very next ball. That was a very good ball and he hit me for a classy six over mid on. I had a big smile on my face,” Khaleel Ahmed told Times of India.

“That’s why we call him legend. It was an amazing shot. I was under pressure. Bhuvi bhai had taken a wicket in the first over and the second over was given to me. I also wanted to take a wicket with the new ball. I kept my calm. I planned something in my mind and executed it well,” Khaleel added.

But eventually, Khaleel had the last laugh as Virat Kohli, in an attempt to stroke another boundary, nicked off to the keeper Wriddhiman Saha.

“I knew he (Virat) would attack. he came forward to hit me, I bowled a length ball and was a bit slow. he got a thick edge and Saha bhai took the catch behind the stumps. it was an amazing feeling to dismiss a world-class batsman like Virat bhai,” Khaleel Ahmed added.

Khaleel claimed 3-37 in that game but his spell couldn’t prevent RCB from chasing down 175 thanks to the onslaught by Shimron Hetmyer [75 off 47 balls] and Gurkeerat Singh [65 off 48 balls].
