KIA Super League: Smriti Mandhana All Set to Miss Her Side's Final Game

Western Storm’s opener Smriti Mandhana is all set to miss the final game for her team due to national duty.

Smriti Mandhana was the first cricketer from India who signed for KIA Super League in England. Along with her, Harmanpreet Kaur who is the skipper of T20 team was the other pick from India.

Smriti Mandhana is all set to miss the Finals Day of the tournament due to her international commitments.

The 22-year old Mandhana is topping the table of most runs scored in the tournament. So far, she has amassed 416 in the competition in just eight outings.

Smriti Mandhana is the only cricketer so far in this season who had hit a century. She slammed a brilliant ton against Lancashire Thunder, as she scored 102 off 61 deliveries.

Smriti Mandhana is asked to take the camp along with other players of the Indian team, as they are around the corner to play the next series.

Trophy holder’s Storm is second on the group standing of the league and is set to qualify for the Finals Day. The Finals Day will take place on Monday, 27 August.

Upon her return to India, Smriti Mandhana said she is hopeful that her team will defend the title. Mandhana said she had a great time in the league.

“I hope Western Storm can defend their title at Hove,” Mandhana said. They’ve been a very welcoming team, and it’s been a great experience. It’s been fantastic to play for Western Storm, and I’ve really enjoyed my time here.”

The left-handed batswoman had taken part in 41 ODI matches and 42 T20 international matches so far in her career. Besides this, she has two Test matches as well under her bag.
