Kieron Pollard joined the Mumbai Indians squad for the IPL 2020 at the back of some terrific performances in the Caribbean Premier League. Pollard continues on his purple patch as he displayed brilliant performance against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Thursday. Mumbai Indians director of cricket Zaheer Khan said that his form is a good sign for the team.
Khan mentioned that to have the ‘big man’ is such a form is very important for the Mumbai Indians franchise. He also added that when Pollard comes to the party early it is always great signs for the team.
“It is great to have the big man in such form since tournament in Caribbean (CPL) and he is continuing with that form, which is very important and we are always banking on him,” Zaheer said in a flash interview posted on MI twitter handle.
“Pollard, when he comes to the party early, it’s always a great sign for us,” Zaheer added.
Pollard has played over 150 matches for Mumbai Indians and continues to serve them at the best of his ability. He is a boon in the shortest format of the game as he can slog in the middle-order and also pick up wickets.
Pollard was adjudged the man-of-the-match in Mumbai Indians’ comfortable win over KXIP on Thursday. He scored 47 runs off 20 deliveries and forged a key partnership with Hardik Pandya which helped Mumbai Indians to reach 191/4 in the stipulated 20 overs. His knock also included four big sixes.
By the virtue of the victory, Mumbai Indians have brought their tournament back on track, and currently on top of the table with one extra match played. The Mumbai franchise have been the most successful in the IPL with four titles to his name.
