Kings XI Punjab Announce New Title Sponsors For IPL 2020

After their recent poor outings in the Indian Premier League, Kings XI Punjab are taking all possible measures to start the next year’s season afresh. The Punjab-based outfit has already roped in former India coach Anil Kumble as their Director of Cricket Operations. They have also decided against trading their captain Ravichandran Ashwin.

And Kings XI Punjab have also decided to change the title sponsors for the next three seasons. The franchise, on Wednesday, announced that EbixCash will be their sponsor from next season. The new sponsors were unveiled on Wednesday in the presence of EbixCash CEO, Mr Robin Raina, Mr Satish Menon, CEO of Kings XI Punjab and Anil Kumble.

“We are pleased to associate with EbixCash and welcome them as our title sponsors,” Menon said. “The VIVO IPL 2020 is a fresh start for us, and we believe that it will be a mutually beneficial and fruitful journey for both brands,” he added.

On the other hand, Kumble expressed his excitement over working with the Kings XI Punjab players.

“I am looking forward to work with the fantastic mix of young and seasoned players in the squad. Coming back as a coach of a cricket team again, I hope to make a significant contribution in KXIP’s journey ahead,” said Kumble.

The franchise will be desperate to make a mark in the forthcoming season. They have not progressed ahead of the league stage since making it to their first-ever final in 2014. Since that season, their best result have been finishing fifth in 2017. In the last five seasons, they have finished eighth twice, seventh once, sixth once and fifth once.

In the last couple of seasons, they started well but failed to build on that. With the likes of KL Rahul, Ashwin, Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal in their ranks, Kings XI Punjab do have enough firepower to go all the way.
