Their hallmark was of batting collapses consistently and relying on Russell to perform a rescue act almost every time. The 31-year-old received the player of the tournament award as well for accumulating 510 wickets and 11 wickets.

Prasidh Krishna disagreed with KKR overdependent on Andre Russell; however, admitted he is one of their vital players. Krishna added that to say that they are overdependent would be an injustice to our team, but Russell has bailed them out from plenty of precarious situations.

Russell is one of the biggest stars in the team. For anybody to say that a team is dependent on one person, it will be an injustice to others in the team. He has bailed us out on many occasions. He is our superstar and there is no doubt about it,” the 24-year-old told Times of India.
