KL Rahul Is Just Lucky Enough To Get Selected In The Indian Squad- Sanjay Manjrekar Sparks Another Controversial Statement

Former Indian cricketer and veteran Indian cricket analyst, Sanjay Manjrekar, has taken a dig at KL Rahul, the Kings XI Punjab skipper after he was selected in all of the three Indian squads that will tour Australia. As Rohit Sharma is not included in the side, KL Rahul has been named the vice-captain of the Indian ODI and T2OI squads.
KL Rahul is currently contesting in IPL 2020 and is the leading run-scorer of the tournament so far. He has held the Orange Cap on his head for the majority of the tournament and although Punjab couldn’t make an impact in the initial stages of the tournament, they have done exceptionally well to make a comeback in the latter half of it.
Sanjay Manjrekar, who has had a very long relationship with controversies surrounding him throughout his off the field stint, has once again come up with statements that are bound to spark a fresh issue.
Sanjay Manjrekar Fires Shots At KL Rahul After His Selection In The Indian Team
On Tuesday, Manjrekar took to Twitter and wrote, “You set a bad precedent when you recall a player for Tests on IPL performance. Especially if the player has been an abject failure in his last few Tests. Whether that player succeeds or fails is irrelevant, such selections massively demotivate Ranji players.”

Until this very moment, Manjrekar had not named anyone as to who his tweet was directed for. However, in response to a fan later, Manjrekar came up with the poor stats of KL Rahul’s recent performances in India’s tours and directly fired shots at him.
He took to Twitter and wrote, “KL Rahul in his last 5 Test series – v SA – Avg 7.1 – v Eng – Avg 29 – v WI at home – Avg 18 – v Aus – Avg 10.7 – v WI – Avg 25.4 I say very lucky to get a recall based on IPL & white ball performance. But now let’s just hope he makes the most of this chance. Good luck to him!”

Manjrekar, who has always been in the centre of the controversies, will definitely have to face freshly cooked allegations as he has once again fired shots at the Indian team management and also on KL Rahul himself. It will be interesting to see of the KXIP skipper responds to Manjrekar’s criticism.
