KL Rahul has pretty much established himself as the wicketkeeper-batsman in India’s limited-overs team. The Karnataka star got the chance to keep the wickets in January this year when Rishabh Pant suffered a concussion while batting during an ODI against Australia.

Since then, KL Rahul has been the first-choice wicketkeeper-batsman of the team. The way he performed on the tour of New Zealand, it looks very tough for Pant to replace KL Rahul as the wicketkeeper of the ODI and T20I teams. KL Rahul has not only impressed with the bat but also with the wicketkeeping gloves.

Rahul, nonetheless, is not new to wicketkeeping. He keeps the wickets in IPL too and has thus ample experience in operating from behind the stumps. And he recently revealed the name of the bowler he finds toughest to keep the wickets to. KL Rahul conducted a question-answer session on Twitter on Sunday where one of the fans asked him the question.

In reply, he named Jasprit Bumrah as the toughest bowler to keep to, tweeting:

The 28-year-old right-handed batsman, who has played 36 Tests, 32 ODIS and 42 T20Is, also said that the 2016 IPL with the Royal Challengers Bangalore was a “career-defining season” for him.

“It’s got to be the 2016 season with RCB which was a career-defining season for me as people saw the potential in me in white ball cricket,” said Rahul when asked about his favourite IPL moment.

If not for the pandemic, KL Rahul would have been playing in the IPL for Kings XI Punjab. The thirteenth edition of the league was scheduled to start on March 29 but the BCCI has suspended the league indefinitely in the light of the pandemic. The season would have been very special for KL Rahul as he was going to lead an IPL team as a permanent captain for the very first time in his career.
