KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma Make Significant Gains In ICC T20I Rankings

Following an incredible series against New Zealand, the opening batsman of India KL Rahul gained four places to reach a career-best second rank in ICC T20I Rankings. His partner Rohit Sharma enters top 10 after a couple of match-winning performances for the team.

On Monday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest rankings of a batsman in T20 International Cricket. Babar Azam continues to rule the chart with 874 points in his kitty while KL Rahul stationed at number 2 with 823 points. He dethroned as many as four players to gain number 2 spot.

Rohit Sharma enters Top 10:

KL Rahul started series on a fine note with 56 runs in the first game and backed it with a Player of the Match performance in the second game. Then he registered 27 and 39 before registering 45 runs in the final game. He was named as the man of the series for his brilliant 224 runs at an average of 56.

Aaron Finch followed KL Rahul at number 3 with 810 points while Colin Munro, who scored a couple of the fifties and Dawid Malan of England are placed fourth and fifth with 785 and 782 points respectively.

At number 6, Australia’s Glenn Maxwell is placed while Evin Lewis had 702 points to take 7th position. Afghanistan’s hitter Hazratullah Zazai is at eighth. The Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma finished the top 10 with 673 and 662 points respectively.

As far as the bowling department is concerned, the premium fast bowler of India Jasprit Bumrah gained as many as 26 places to acquire 11th position in the Ranking chart alongside Sheldon Cottrell.

For New Zealand, Ish Sodhi retains his place at 13th. Other significant changes in the chart are Shaheen Afridi of Pakistan and Al Amin Hossain of Bangladesh, who gained 33 and 25 spots respectively.
