Kamaal Rashid Khan aka KRK is back with his controversial tweets on cricket and the cricketers and this time he has targeted Kolkata Knight Riders and their skipper Dinesh Karthik.  Knight Riders’ season is falling apart fast as they are now in grave danger of missing out on a playoff spot despite winning four of their opening five games. On Thursday, they lost their sixth game in a row after losing the game against Rajasthan Royals by three wickets.

Asked to bat first, the Knight Riders’ rode on their skipper Dinesh Karthik’s career-best knock of 97 not out to recover from a poor start and post a competitive total of 175 for 6. The Knight Riders were off to a disastrous start with Varun Aaron sending back openers Chris Lynn and Shubman Gill cheaply. Nitish Rana departed soon too as Knight Riders found themselves 3 down for just 43 and later 4 for 80.

However, Karthik held firm from one end and remained unbeaten on 97 to take the Knight Riders to a competitive total. It was also his highest score in the IPL and the highest for Knight Riders since Brendon McCullum hit the famous 158* in the very first game of the tournament in 2008.

In reply, the Royals started well with Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson adding 53 runs in just 31 balls. However, the chase soon fell off the track when both the openers departed in quick succession. The visitors soon found themselves 5 down for just 98. Riyan Parag and Shreyas Gopal revived the hopes with a 25-run stand. Jofra Archer also played a handy knock as the Royals eventually won the game with 4 balls remaining.

With 4 wins from 11 games, the Knight Riders now need a miracle to make it to the playoffs. And KRK thinks it is all over for the two-time champions. The Bollywood critic lashed out at Dinesh Karthik, calling him an immature player while tweeting:

“#KKR is not going to win #IPL2019 because @DineshKarthik is immature player for captain’s job. #KKRvRR”
