Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder, Krunal Pandya, who has done remarkably well for the past few seasons in the Indian Premier League (IPL), is likely to get his debut call-up for the Twenty20 International series against Ireland and England.
Meanwhile, India will play two T20I matches in Ireland in June followed by three T20Is in England.
However, may senior cricketers are likely to miss the Ireland series to prepare for England. As a result, many young cricketers will get an opportunity to make their mark at the international arena.
The senior of the Pandya brother’s, Krunal has been spectacular for Mumbai. He repaid the trust shown by the franchise as they use the Right to Match (RTM) option for him.
So far, he has scored 181 runs and backed it up with nine wickets. Last night, he bowled a crucial last over to defend the target against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Krunal to get his maiden call:
According to a report in TOI, there is a rising speculation that Pandya might get a call for the upcoming T20I series. This will be a huge opportunity for him to present his case in the international circuit.
Pandya in the mix of some heavyweight names hasn’t got the opportunity yet.
However, he will be raring to prove his worth at the highest level.
A senior Board Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) office-bearer admitted that he expects Krunal Pandya to be in the plane to Ireland and England.
“Expect Pandya to be part of India’s T20 team, the way he’s been going about with his game,” he told to TOI.
Meanwhile, he is also in line to be in India A squad for the England tour.
Previously, he was the part of India A that travelled to South Africa for the tri-series against South Africa A and Afghanistan A.
