India spinner Kuldeep Yadav has revealed the name of the toughest batsmen to bowl to in the nets. The chinaman spinner made his India debut in 2017 and has not looked back since then. He is an integral part of the limited-overs team and also makes it to the Test squad every now and then.
He did not take long at all to prove himself in international cricket. On his Test debut against Australia, he picked up four wickets in the first innings to help India win the game as well as the four-match series. Months later, he made his ODI debut and soon took a hat-trick in the 50-over format against Australia.
Picking Kuldeep Yadav is still a tough job for batsmen around the world and the left-arm spinner’s success across the globe is a testament of that. But then again, there are few batsmen who trouble him and he recently revealed their names. In a recent interview, the Uttar Pradesh star revealed that bowling to Cheteshwar Pujara and Rohit Sharma is the toughest challenge for him while bowling in nets.
“Toughest batsman in the nets is Cheteshwar Pujara I guess. He plays very well against any offspinner, especially in Test cricket. And in ODI format it is Rohit Sharma. Of course there are plenty of youngsters as well. They aren’t afraid of going for the big shots. So everyone is good. But Pujara in Tests is really difficult to bowl to,” Kuldeep Yadav told cricket.com.
If not for the pandemic, Kuldeep Yadav would have been playing in the IPL right now. IPL 2020 was scheduled to start on March 29 but the BCCI has suspended it indefinitely in the light of the pandemic.
