Former South Africa fast bowler Kyle Abbott created magic in Southampton when he returned with 17 for 86 against Somerset in a County Championship Division One match. The Hampshire fast bowler claimed nine wickets in the first innings and backed it with another eight to help his side register a 136 runs win.

The 32-year-old left South Africa a few years back to sign the Kolpak deal to live his dream for playing for England. The right-arm fast bowler has started to make his dream count after eye-catching display of fast bowling in this year’s County Championship.

Kyle Abbot followed his nine for 40 in the first innings against Somerset with eight for 46 in the second innings to become the first Hampshire player to take 17 wickets in a match. His figures are the best by anyone in a first-class match since Jim Laker’s spectacular 19 for 90 against Australia in Manchester in 1956.
