Former India fast bowler, Laxmipathy Balaji has had a massive fan-following on both sides of the border after playing a significant part during the Pakistan tour in 2004.

Moreover, Balaji played a vital cog during India’s victorious campaign on that tour. Pakistani crowd showered love at Balaji with both hands.

Appearing in the show, “Bhajji Blast” hosted by Harbhajan Singh, Balaji talked about his unforgettable tour to Pakistan in 2004. The Tamil Nadu cricketer opened up on a funny incident from 2004 series.

He revealed a moment when the fans tweaked the lyrics of famous song “Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo” to “Balaji Zara Dheere Chalo.” Balaji played cricket with the right spirit and always had a big smile on his face.

Harbhajan also spoke about it during the show that no wonder what the pacer had a smile on his. The off-spinner added he would like to steal it from him.

Balaji announced retirement in 2016 with eight Tests, 30 ODIs and four T20Is to his name. The pacer has 76 wickets in 73 IPL matches he played. He is also the first bowler to take a hat-trick in the cash-rich league.

Meanwhile, in the 2018 IPL, Balaji worked as the bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). CSK scripted history winning the title after coming out of two-year’s suspension.
