Trent Boult, on Saturday, created history by becoming the first New Zealand player to take a hat-trick in World Cups. The New Zealand pace spearhead achieved the remarkable feat against Australia at the iconic Lord’s. Boult finished the spell with impressive figures of 4 for 51 off his ten overs. He gave New Zealand a solid start by dismissing in-form Aaron Finch cheaply before helping his side finish strongly too.

On the next two deliveries, Boult accounted for Mitchell Starc and Jason Behrendorff to complete his hat-trick. Australia eventually finished their innings on a respectable 243 for 9 after suffering an early collapse.
