The hard-hitting all-rounder from Mumbai, Shivam Dube has earned his maiden call-up for the upcoming three-match series against Bangladesh. Yet to make his debut, fans have already started to compare him with one of the greatest all-rounders, Yuvraj Singh.

Dube impressed one and all with his five consecutive sixes in a Ranji Trophy match in 2018. It helped him earn a contract with the Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, Shivam Dube failed to make a mark in his debut IPL season in 2019.
However, the all-rounder has been in scintillating form in recent times for India A and Mumbai. He has struck the ball brilliantly and has looked in the best of his form which earned him a call-up for the upcoming series against the Tigers.

As they gear up for the first T20I, Shivam Dube looked in full swing on the eve of the game. He dispatched the bowlers in the nets to fine-tune his hitting skills. Dube looked at ease as he stepped down the crease to clear the bowlers.
BCCI posted a 20-second video of the all-rounder’s practice session which left fans ecstatic. He displayed his high backlift while playing some of the shots. Shivam Dube’s backlift was similar to that of former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and some fans felt Dube has the traits of being the next Yuvraj.

Shivam Dube has scored 1,012 runs with two centuries and seven half-centuries to his name. He has a healthy average and also enjoys a good strike-rate. Besides, he can also roll his arms to bowl medium pace. It is only to be seen if Dube makes his international debut when India host Bangladesh in the first T20I later today.
