LSG vs RCB: Watch - Faf du Plessis’ Brilliant Sliding Save At Boundary Denies Deepak Hooda A Four

Faf du Plessis was the main man for his team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who took on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 32^nd match of the IPL 2022 being played at the DY Patil Stadium on Tuesday.

Not only did he play a brilliant knock with the bat, but his fielding efforts at the boundary filled his team with energy and gusto as they tried to defend a decent total.

Faf du Plessis played a captain’s knock, making 96 in 64 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes. He got help from Shahbaz Ahmed (26) and Glenn Maxwell (23) as RCB managed to post 181/6 in 20 overs. This was after Dushmantha Chameera gave two huge blows in the first over itself, as he dismissed Anuj Rawat for 4 and Virat Kohli the next ball for a golden duck.

Meanwhile, LSG had a similar kind of start to their knock as Josh Hazlewood removed Quinton de Kock for 3 and Manish Pandey for 6 runs, while KL Rahul scored 30 in 24 balls. After he got out, Krunal Pandya and Deepak Hooda came together to try and form a partnership, but it was a brilliant catch from Suyash Prabhudessai at third man, which ended Hooda’s knock for 13 runs.

Krunal Pandya soon followed him for 42 in 28 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes, leaving LSG at 108/5 in 13.4 overs

Faf Du Plessis Denies Deepak Hooda Four Runs With A Wonderful Tumbling Save At Boundary Ropes

Faf du Plessis somehow found the energy to patrol the long-on boundary rope after playing for 15 overs and scoring 96 runs, his highest IPL score, which he equaled. On the 1^st ball of the 11^th over, Deepak Hooda shuffled down the track and lofted Shahbaz Ahmed to the long-on boundary.

Faf du Plessis charged towards his left and slapped the ball from going over and tumbled into the LCD ad boards on the landing, saving a boundary for his team.
