Former Indian Skipper MS Dhoni has been away from international cricket for a long time now. He last represented India in the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Since then, speculations about his retirement have been there doing the rounds.  Fans still believe that he can still play the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia this year.

Amidst all this, the Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) removed Dhoni from the annual contracts list. This has caused rage among cricket fans all over the world. Fans and cricket lovers are shaming BCCI for disrespecting a legend of his stature. This has also hinted about his possible exit from international cricket.

MS Dhoni begins IPL Training

Jharkhand’s coach Rajiv Kumar has opened up on Dhoni’s current training. He said that he hasn’t had a word with former Indian skipper about the national team yet. Speaking to IANS, Kumar said, “I haven’t had any talks with him with regards to the national team and him donning the India jersey again. But, his preparations for the next edition of the IPL has begun and while the senior team will be busy playing the Ranji Trophy game from Sunday, Dhoni will continue training till the time he is in Ranchi.”

Team India has failed to find a replacement for MS Dhoni since his departure. Rishabh Pant has failed miserably with the bat and gloves even after being provided with multiple chances. Captain Kohli has also lost a guiding force who used to assist him in decision-making. If India plans to move on, they will have to find a replacement super soon or we might witness India losing out on another ICC Trophy.

IPL 2020 will begin from 29th March 2020. The first game of the tournament will be played between the winner and the runner-up of the previous edition, i.e. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Superkings. Dhoni will lead the Superkings for the final time in IPL this year. Chennai has been the most consistent team of the tournament and has won it thrice.
