Mahendra Singh Dhoni to open cricket academy in Singapore

Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has three ICC’s coveted titles under his belt, is bound to launch the academy for the youngsters at St Patrick’s School in Singapore on January 20 in a bid to improve the cricket at grassroots level
On the other side, Academia7 is awaiting to see Dhoni in Singapore as the school has already thrown registration which further saw the website reading as: ‘A wave is coming on January 20’.
In the latest statement, Dhoni said that youngsters should take part in the outdoor activities while adding they are focusing on the all-round development while nursing them.
“Every kid should play an outdoor sport. MS Dhoni Cricket Academy is not only about producing cricket talent, but our academy’s vision is to guide a kid to become a champion in life via sports,” Dhoni was quoted as saying by Straitstimes.
Interestingly, the cricket academy will go under the name of ‘MS Dhoni Cricket Academy Singapore’ which further saw the Academiad7 and CricKingdom collaborating on this front with the school – to provide the best of the opportunities for the youngsters who have shown great will to excel in the cricket and Dhoni has stepped ahead to nurse the raw talent in Singapore.
Dhoni, who is known for his reflexes behind the stumps, is all set to work in tandem alongside G.K. Diviya, who is the Women’s team skipper of Singapore.
On the other side, Dhoni will also work with Chaminda Ruwan and Chetan Suryavanshi from men’s team.
Moreover, it is going to be second of its kind when it comes to the academies laid by the tall figure of Indian cricket.
Dhoni further stated throwing oneself into the field of a sport would also help the youngsters to develop the qualities of a leader while adding it has played a prominent role in shaping a way of approaching in the different facets of life.
“Sports should be an essential driver for the development of a child’s character. Apart from being fit, you can learn leadership and other important aspects of life via sports,” Dhoni stated.
The 36-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman Dhoni had already established his first academy in November 2016 outside India which is located in Dubai.
So much so the well thought-out curriculum has been framed by the right-handed batsman Dhoni, who is still considered as one of the quickest between the wickets in the gentleman’s game.
“MS Dhoni Defined Curriculum based on curriculum followed by BCCI, ECB, Cricket Australia and Cricket South Africa,” Academia7 stated.
The registration is based online which would nurse the students with the minimum age-bar of six years.
The registration procedure has been made even interesting which would further see the winners being provided with the memorabilia signed by Dhoni.
So far, the reports suggested over 250 students have registered to buy the tickets to have a glimpse of the star cricketer.
Moreover, the Academia7 has its academies in over a dozen countries as the Aarka Sports management company is also bound to play a significant role when it comes to the improvement owing to the grassroots level.
