Bangladesh’s ODI specialist, Mashrafe Mortaza added another feather to his cap after bagging a rare feat in Dhaka Premier League. The Bangladeshi captain managed to clinch a double hat-trick while representing Abahani.
With the help of his superhuman efforts, Abahani went on secure a thriller against Agrani by a margin of 11 runs. Earlier, Mortaza’s team posted a total of 290 runs, losing six of their batsmen in the process.
Bangladesh’s stalwart, bowling the last over of the match, picked up four wickets in successive balls to clinch the double hattrick. Agrani fell short of the required target needing thirteen of the last over.

At first, the Bangladeshi stalwart conceded a single off the first ball of the over. Mashrafe Mortaza then bagged the wickets of Dhiman Ghosh, Abdur Razzak, Shiaful Islam and Fazle Rabbi in the successive deliveries. The feat is now registered in the record books of the domestic circuit of Bangladesh.
Mortaza retired from T20I cricket last year
Mashrafe announced his retirement from T20s last year, looking to concentrate on his ODI career. The speedster’s career has been plagued with a variety of injuries.
In order to feature in the World Cup of 2019 in England, Mortaza had to make a call regarding his future in T20Is. Bangladesh currently is gearing up against Asian giants India and Sri Lanka for the Nidahas Trophy.

Talismanic Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib al Hasan was scheduled to lead the Tigers in the tournament before he suffered an untimely injury. Mahmudullah, now, will lead the Tigers in the competition.
The men in green are going through a rough patch in International cricket across all formats. They lost the 2-match T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka at home recently. Prior to the series against Lanka, they also lost the Tri-Nation ODI series against Sri Lanka after reaching the finals of the tournament.
