Board Members who have attended the Special General Meeting (SGM) on June 22 (Friday) at Delhi, and eventually have asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to bear the cost of the recent meeting.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) didn’t give any permission for this meeting.
Moreover, the Apex Body-led panel had further instructed BCCI employees to stay away from the meeting.
As per reports in English newspaper Indian Express, the resolution mentioned that the cost of the meeting is borne by the BCCI.
“Resolved that entire costs of this requisitioned General Body meeting received from 28 nominations will be borne by the BCCI. Resolved further to record with regret the fact that no officials were present nor that any official records available to assist the General Body as a result of directives issued,” the SGM resolution said.
However, CoA chief, Vindo Rai clearly stated that for them, the SGM didn’t exist. Moreover, he added they will take a call after reading the resolution.
“Let the resolution come to us. We will take a view on it. But as far as we are concerned, the SGM didn’t exist,” Rai said.
The members of the Board also decided on a two-tier system for the upcoming premium domestic Ranji Trophy competition.
Also, The ICC’s decision to convert the 2021 Champions Trophy to an additional World Twenty20 didn’t go down well with the BCCI members.
