The 33rd match of the IPL 2022 saw Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clashing at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on April 21, 2022, saw MI losing both openers Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma in the first over itself.

Though the clash between these two sides is considered to be the El-Clasico of the Indian Premier League, in this season, it is more the question of survival for the two teams.

Mumbai Indians have not won a match in six encounters so far, while Chennai Super Kings have atleast opened their account with one win in six matches, but both the teams are plagued with problems of their own.

CSK lost their premier pace bowler Deepak Chahar to back injury while not having adequate backups for him and the Indian pacers they have are not upto his level. Then recently, they were dealt a bigger blow as their New Zealand speed machine, Adam Milne was also ruled out of IPL 2022 due to a hamstring injury.

MI, on the other hand, have struggled due to poor picks at the IPL 2022 auction as they do not have an experienced spinner in the squad and no backup Indian pacer for Jasprit Bumrah, and their overseas pacers have leaked runs badly.

Both the teams were hoping to get more points to their name when they clashed, but MI got the shorter end of the deal.

Mukesh Choudhary Rattles Mumbai Indians, Dismissed Rohit Sharma And Ishan Kishan In The First Over

CSK’s left-arm pacer Mukesh Choudhary started off well as Ravindra Jadeja won the toss and chose to bowl first. CSK dropped Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan to bring in Mitchell Santner and Dwaine Pretorius, while MI included Riley Meredith and Hrithik Shokeen.

Choudhary jolted MI in the first over itself, as he first dismissed Rohit Sharma on the second ball of the match and then clean bowled Ishan Kishan with an outswing full ball.

Kishan played down the wrong line and was on his knees as the stumps went for a walk on a fuller delivery.
