Virat Kohli and Steve Smith have a great sporting rivalry between each other in the game of cricket. There is one thing that they both have in common which is ‘exquisite appetite for scoring runs with incredible consistency’. Their seemingly successful regeneration in their approach sets them a class apart from most other batsmen and which is why they are deemed the best in the world.

However, their evolution as cricketers is totally different. Virat Kohli grew from strength to strength and managed to reach the highest level whereas Steve Smith started his career as a leg spinner before turning out to be one of the recognised batsmen. Meanwhile, there has been a constant debate as to who is the best player in the world.

Word has it that Steve Smith is the best player in terms of red-ball cricket and Virat Kohli tops the list in the limited-overs. But for Michael Vaughan, the equation remains the same. According to him, Virat Kohli is easily the best batsman in the world across all the formats.

Check out Trent Woodhill’s tweet:

It all started when Trent Woodhill took to Twitter to post a tweet, asking people to pick one player who is the best in the world. His tweet read, “And if you could pick just one who would it be for all formats??”

In reply, Michael Vaughan answered it without hesitation calling it Virat Kohli in the first place. Vaughan’s tweet read, “Virat … #NoBrainer”
