Australia lost the second Test against South Africa at Port Elizabeth against South Africa by six wickets. The Proteas completely decimated the tourists in the second Test as they were relentless in their approach.
The Australians, on the other hand, will have to cope with another blow as their all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has ten days to recover from a groin injury. Australian captain revealed after the end of the second Test that the all-rounder suffered a groin injury and was then moved to the slip position while fielding in the second innings.
Marsh played a gutsy knock of 45 runs in the second innings and survived a lethal spell of fast bowling on day three. Marsh couldn’t bowl much in the Test. He only bowled nine overs in the first innings and didn’t bowl in the second innings.

Australia do not have a reserve all-rounder in their 15-man squad, but Smith does not seem too concerned with the fitness of his No.6 as he is confident of his bowler’s fitness.
Smith said:
“He’s got a bit of a groin strain so he was struggling to move a little bit. I was told at the break that he can actually run, so unfortunately he could’ve been out on the field when he was in the slips, but still should’ve taken that catch. But everyone drops it every now and again, I’ve been pretty guilty myself in recent times.”
“I think all the quicks are going really well. I haven’t heard today, but before today they were all feeling fine, so hopefully with a good 10-day break they can freshen up a little bit. In regards to Mitch Marsh, it’s a good break now between now and the next Test match and he’s telling me he’ll be fine but we’ll wait and see how things go.”
