Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur Met BCCI Officials, Ramesh Power to Meet on Wednesday

It seems like things are finally getting settled in the Indian women cricket. Rather than India losing the semifinal game against England, people were more concerned on the snub of Mithali Raj for the crucial clash. Regarding the same, Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur met BCCI officials in the presence of the team manager. Meanwhile, head coach Ramesh Powar was also called to meet them.

Mithali Raj was in prime form during the tournament, but surprisingly, the Harmanpreet-led side had left her out for the crucial clash in semifinal despite being fit. For the same, Saba Karim and BCCI CEO Rahul Johri met both the cricketers and also Team manager.

Speaking of the same, Rahul Johri confirmed the media they had met all of them on Monday evening. Further, he asked the reporters not to ask about the internal questions that took place at the meeting.

However, Rahul revealed they have spoken with each member privately. Rahul Johri added they noted down everything on the paper and will come out to the conclusion shortly. They also talked to Ramesh Powar as well.

“Yes, we (Johri and Karim) met Mithali, Harman and manager Trupti Bhattacharya. All of them met us separately and put across their viewpoints. We have noted everything down. Please don’t ask me what has been discussed during the meeting,” Johri said to PTI.

“Even a player of Anil Kumble’s stature was asked to re-apply and we don’t see a reason why there should be an exception for Powar. Obviously, Ramesh can also apply but fresh interviews of interested candidates will take place,” a senior BCCI said on condition of anonymity.

Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out. Most probably, the individuals might be out without punishments, as none can question the playing XI selection.
