Former Pakistan skipper and coach Waqar Younis believes Mohammad Amir is an asset for Pakistan. The former Pakistan reverse swing-master said that Amir is a match winner for the team.

The left-arm paceman Amir has delivered the goods for the Men in Green in the recent past.

In fact, he has made a strong comeback into the International arena after serving a lengthy ban of five years.

Meanwhile, Younis said that we should move on and try to forgive the young fast bowler.

Mohammad Amir is a match-winner:

“It is not easy to come back after being out of the game for five years. You can’t expect an 18-year-old kid to be out of the game for five years and then come back and be the same bowler and do the same things he was doing before his ban. The game has moved on also, it’s more fast-paced and there is more Twenty20 cricket being played around the world. But he’s a fighter,” Waqar told Pak Passion.

The legendary bowler Younis went on to add that people should try to forgive the player and move on.

Amir was banned for a period of five-year when he had bowled an infamous big no-ball at iconic Lord’s, way back in 2010.

However, after the prolonged gap of five years, the southpaw fast bowler has made a strong comeback.

“I was always supporting Amir for his comeback to cricket as I feel that everyone makes mistakes in life. We are living in a world where we should be able to forgive people and move on as long as they have learnt their lesson. He’s an asset for Pakistan cricket and he remains a match-winner.”

The former Pakistan leader Younis believes Amir should keep a check on his workload as he is plying on his trade in different Twenty20 leagues across the globe.

Thus, Waqar Younis added Amir should keep the fire burning to play for Pakistan across formats.

“I think for Amir as a strike-bowler playing in all three formats all of the time is a bit too much because he’s also playing in Twenty20 leagues around the world. Amir has to be careful with his workload and that hunger to play for your country has to remain,” Waqar concluded.

Mohammad Amir is a world-class bowler. Consequently, he was able to make a stronger comeback even after spending five years on the sidelines.

In addition, there is no doubt that Amir has all the ingredients to become one of the best fast bowlers in the modern age.
