Pakistan’s talisman fast bowler Mohammad Amir revealed the plan of dismissing Virat Kohli in the final of the Champions Trophy. Amir was able to get the better of the Indian captain in the final of the coveted tournament. In fact, Kohli was dropped in the slips. However, Amir was once again able to produce a thick outside edge of Kohli’s bat that carried to Shadab Khan at the point position.

Kohli scored only five runs in the final and when the right-hander was dismissed, the match was tilted in favor of Pakistan. In fact, both Mohammad Amir and Virat Kohli share a mutual respect for each other. Kohli had earlier also said that Mohammad Amir is the toughest bowler he has faced in his career.

Kohli wicket was a big one for Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Amir said he tried to bring the ball into the right-hander. Amir was able to plumb Rohit Sharma in front of the wickets with inswinging delivery.

“When Virat Kohli came in, I had bowled an inswing delivery and he was beaten. Rohit Sharma was also dismissed off an inswinging delivery too. He was dropped earlier and I thought if he stuck around, he will take India towards victory. So I prayed to God for his wicket and the next ball I got his wicket after Shadab Khan took a brilliant catch”, Amir said while talking on Voice of Cricket.

In fact, Mohammad Amir was able to scalp the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar. When asked who was a bigger wicket between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, Amir chose the former.

“Both. They’re both big batsmen. Tendulkar I will say because when I was playing then, I was new to the team. So Sachin’s wicket was special for me.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan was able to win the Champions Trophy Final by a huge margin of 180 runs. On the other hand, Pakistan is currently playing the second Test match against Australia, however, Amir is not the part of the team.
