Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif on Tuesday opined that MS Dhoni still has a lot to offer to Indian cricket. The comments from Kaif came on the day Indian cricket team celebrated the seventh anniversary of their ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.
The triumph made MS Dhoni the first and so far only captain to win all three ICC trophies. India had defeated hosts England in the rain-curtailed match to create history. Before leading India to Champions Trophy glory, MS Dhoni had led the country to victory in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 World Cup.
Sharing pictures of MS Dhoni posing with all the three ICC trophies, Kaif praised the former captain for his achievements as a player and as a captain.
“On this day, 7 years back, MS Dhoni became the first captain to win all three ICC Trophies—Champions Trophy (2013),World Cup(2011) & WT20 (2007).Fine captain & a champion player. One of India’s greatest match-winners. I feel he still has a lot to offer to Indian cricket,” he tweeted.

At present, there are question marks over MS Dhoni’s future with Team India. He has not played a competitive game since the World Cup semifinal in July last year. As soon as the tournament ended, he took a sabbatical from the game.
The sabbatical would have ended in March. The Chennai Super Kings skipper had also started training in March before the BCCI suspended the league in the light of the pandemic. As of now, there is little clarity over MS Dhoni’s future in international cricket. And as usual, the legendary captain has maintained his silence and the cricket world has continued to debate over his future.
