Former India batsman Mohammad Kaif has reacted to Yograj Singh’s recent remarks against MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. In a sensational outburst, Yograj, former India cricketer and father of Yuvraj Singh, accused Dhoni and Kohli of betraying his son.

Known for his bold statements, Yograj claimed that both Dhoni and Kohli betrayed Yuvraj, saying that the two back-stabbed the former India batsman. Yuvraj, who is one of the greatest match-winners to have played for India, retired from the game last year after failing to make the cut for the World Cup.

The left-handed batsman, in fact, never really managed to cement his place in the team after his miraculous recovery from cancer. In 2017, he made a comeback to the ODI team after more than 4 years. He made an instant impression by playing a knock of 150 against England in the home series but could not build on that performance and was dropped just a few months later.

And while Yograj continues to take shots at Dhoni and Kohli for the way Yuvraj’s career ended, Mohammad Kaif believes otherwise. In a recent interview, Mohammad Kaif said that Yograj’s allegations are not true. At the same time, the former cricketer admitted that Yuvraj should have got more opportunities.

“I don’t think that Yuvi’s father’s allegation is true. But yes, Yuvi is a shorter format cricket champion, he should have got more opportunity. But in India, if a player lost his form for few matches then it’s not easy to save the spot. Because many talented players are waiting to enter Team India,” Mohammad Kaif said via Helo App.

Yograj had said that Dhoni didn’t back Yuvraj the way Sourav Ganguly did. Replying to that, Mohammad Kaif said that Dhoni had all the right to choose the team he wanted as he was the one leading the Indian side.

“Dhoni is the most successful white-ball cricket captain. He deserves some freedom to select his own team. You can question him when he fails to deliver. But his records are spectacular. He won many trophies for India. So, the selectors will give the freedom and values his suggestions. It will not become favouritism,” said Mohammad Kaif.
