Mohammad Mithun Suffers An Injury Ahead Of Second T20I

Bangladesh suffered a massive blow ahead of the second T20I match against India. Star cricketer Mohammad Mithun sustained an injury during training and is unlikely to take part in the second match of the series. Rajkot will host the second T20I on October 7 (Thursday).

A jubilant Bangladesh side reached Rajkot on Monday and resume training on Tuesday at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. They stunned India beating them in the opening tie by seven wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Mohammad Mithun cops a blow

As the Tigers were looking to seal the series in Rajkot, they suffered a massive blow. Mohammad Mithun suffered an injury while batting in the nets. He was trying to play the scoop shot and unfortunately, the ball hit his chin which left him injured in the end. However, he kept on batting in the nets despite the injury.

The Bangladesh physio didn’t want to risk with Mithun and treated him initially before rushing to the hospital. After intense care, Mohammad Mithun had to undergo one stitch on his chin. Although Mithun was not a part of the first match, but he forms an integral part of this squad who are without the likes of Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh will hope to keep their excellent run and stun India in the matches to follow. The Men in Blues who are without their regular skipper Virat Kohli suffered their first defeat in last six T20I matches after the ICC World Cup 2019.
