Former Zimbabwe captain Tatenda Taibu, on a CricketAddictor live show, had said that Dinesh Karthik looked technically more sound than MS Dhoni when India A toured in 2004. But MS Dhoni worked on himself as rose up to be the premier wicket-keeper batsman for India over the years. Dinesh Karthik has played alongside MS Dhoni since 2003-04 and feels nothing has changed about the 2011 World Cup winning captain since his early days.
MS Dhoni made a big name for himself by making the country proud with his achievements after coming from the cricketing backwaters of Ranchi. He has achieved immense success as a player and also grew up to be one of the most successful captains and achieved almost everything the ICC tournaments had to offer. All the success has made him one of the most influential person on the cricketing circuit but he was not the same when he was first introduced to the national team.
MS Dhoni Was Pretty Much An Easy Going Character: Dinesh Karthik
“In 2003 or 2004, when I went for my first A tour with him, he was pretty much an easy going, chill, relaxed character and that’s what you see as well,” Karthik said on Star Sports’ Cricket Connected chat show.
“The only difference is that there’s a lot more white hair now, but inside, he’s pretty calm. I haven’t seen him get angry that often or I haven’t seen him express his anger explicitly outside too often. So, he’s been pretty much the same,” he added.
At present there is a lot of speculation regarding to the future of MS Dhoni. He did not feature in a match since 2019 World Cup nor has let anyone known about his future. He continues to remain silent.
