MS Dhoni is the Highest Individual Tax-Payer in Jharkhand

The former skipper of India, MS Dhoni has topped the table, as the highest Individual taxpayer in Jharkhand. Dhoni has paid the highest personal tax in the financial year 2017-18.
MS Dhoni has paid a whopping sum of 12.17 crores in this financial year. During the last fiscal, Dhoni paid is the highest income tax paid by an individual in Jharkhand and Bihar area. In the financial year 2017-18, MS Dhoni paid an extra sum of 1.24 then what he spent in the year before that.
The income department while confirming these figures said Dhoni paid 1.24 crores higher than what was figured in the 2016-17 financial year.
Meanwhile, MS Dhoni stepped down from captaincy in 2017 and paved the way for his successor Virat Kohli.
As of now, he is in the category A in the list of contact players under the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Besides this, he owns different business ventures and also earns from various endorsement contracts.
“Dhoni had paid Rs 10.93 crore as income tax in 2016-17, but he was not the highest taxpayer in that fiscal,” chief commissioner of Income Tax, Jharkhand region, V Mahalingam, said.
The 37-year old, MS Dhoni is the third highest earning cricket as per Forbes. He is just behind Sachin Tendulkar and present skipper of India, Virat Kohli. He also featured in the top 100 wealthiest athletes of the world in the year 2015.
According to a survey done by Forbes, the most successful captain of India’s net worth was $111 million in 2015. Dhoni earned $31.5 million in 2015, including a $3.5 million in salary and $28 million in endorsements.
The 2011 World Cup winning captain owns a football franchise in the Indian Super League. He is also a joint owner of Ranchi Rays franchise in the Hockey India League.
Dhoni launched his apparel line and also sent a proposal to the state government of Jharkhand to permit him to build a five-star hotel in the city.
