Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni created yet another record in his career as during the 1st ODI of the series against Australia in Hyderabad, he became just the fourth Indian cricketer to score 13000 runs in List A cricket.

Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid are three Indian cricketers who achieved the same milestone in their careers.

Tendulkar, the highest run-scorer in the history of ODI cricket, scored 21999 runs in his long career. Ganguly scored 15622 runs while Dravid scored 15271 runs in 449 matches.

With Dhoni looking set to take a call on his career after World Cup, he is unlikely to touch the score of either of the three Indians who have achieved the milestone.

Dhoni achieved the milestone in his 354th List A innings en route his match-winning score of 59*.

He shared a match-winning partnership of 141 runs for the fifth wicket along with Kedar Jadhav, who played a Man of the Match inning of 81*.

The duo joined each other when India were 99/4 after 23.3 overs.

They had a tough job there as runs weren’t on offer for the batsmen and they had to run between the wickets to keep the scoreboard ticking.

It was evident by the fact that Jadhav managed 42 runs out 81 runs in boundaries while Dhoni ran 29 runs between the wickets.

They did not panic in the chase and displayed experience, taking India to first win in the series.

Going ahead, the experienced batsmen have shown that India have the capability to chase own targets even if top three batsmen fail.

The team management will hope them to bat with same intent in rest of the series.

India and Australia will now play second ODI of the series at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on Tuesday.

Both the teams are likely to go with an unchanged playing XI.

Earlier, India had lost the T20I series by 2-0. Both the matches ended in the final over of the match with Glenn Maxwell shining on both the occasions.
