After MS Dhoni displayed his brilliance behind the stumps in the ongoing match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi, he wanted to finish the game as well for Chennai Super Kings. However, MS Dhoni could not do so even as he failed to make a connection, losing his stumps in the process. Leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy was the one to claim his wicket at a crucial time.

The dismissal occurred in the 17th over when Chennai Super Kings needed 44 in the last over. The Super Kings’ skipper had collected a boundary off a wide delivery from Chakravarthy; however, the leggie displayed temperament as he bowled a leg-cutter that missed Dhoni’s slog sweep. The young leggie claimed a massive wicket of one of the best finishers, mainly when the 39-year old was looking to tee off.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders chose to bat after winning the toss. Opener Rahul Tripathi was the only one with a crucial 81; however, the rest of the batsmen could not capitalise on the starts. Dwayne Bravo was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4-0-37-3 while Sam Curran, Karn Sharma, and Shardul Thakur picked up two each to bowl out the Knight Riders for 167.
