MS Dhoni Might Come Back In Indian Side If He Does Well In IPL: Deepak Chahar
While MS Dhoni’s international career continues to be the talk of the town, there is absolutely little denying the fact that his days in international cricket are numbered. The former India skipper has not played a single competitive game since the end of World Cup in July last year.
As soon as the tournament ended, he took a sabbatical from the game which was to end last month through the IPL. The 38-year old had also started training for the tournament before the coronavirus pandemic ruined everything. Earlier this month, the BCCI suspended the league indefinitely after the government extended the lockdown.
And while only time will tell how things unfold as far as MS Dhoni’s career is concerned, his IPL and India teammate Deepak Chahar has said that the veteran is still capable of playing international cricket. During an Instagram live session, Chahar admitted that he is a fan of Dhoni just like anyone else and wants to see MS Dhoni don the blue jersey again for his country.
“I am a fan of MS Dhoni just like anyone else. I want him to play for India. I want to play alongside him for India once again. I was lucky to make my ODI debut under him, he had left ODI captaincy but he came back to captain in that one game where I made my debut,” said Deepak Chahar on Instagram live.
“Whether he wants to play or not is his decision. But the kind of fitness he is in, he can play if he wants to. If the IPL happens later this year, and he does well, he might come back in the Indian side,” he added.
Deepak Chahar also expressed his desire of playing alongside MS Dhoni when the latter plays his last ever game for India.
“I am a huge fan, I want to see him don the blue jersey again. And I wish to be part of the Indian team when he plays his last game for India,” said Chahar.
