Watch: MS Dhoni Makes A Rare Public Appearance With A Stunning New Look

Even as MS Dhoni has not made his on-field appearance in over a year, the news of his whereabouts keeps doing rounds. The former Indian captain could have played in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL), captaining the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) if not for COVID-19 pandemic thwarting the plans. Nevertheless, MS Dhoni made a rare public appearance, sporting a new look.

MS Dhoni has not played any competitive cricket ever since India’s exit from the 2019 World Cup in England. Like in most part of his career, the keeper-batsman fought valiantly to take the semi-final clash as deep as possible against New Zealand. However, after reaching his fifty, Martin Guptill fired an outstanding throw at the stumps that left MS Dhoni marginally short of the crease. It also crushed India’s hopes of reaching the final of the tournament.

As far as social media is concerned, the 39-year old has not operated his Twitter account since the 14th of February. On the same day, it was also his last Instagram appearance. Although his wife, Sakshi, keeps sharing videos occasionally of their life during the lockdown. And on this occasion too, it was her.

Chennai Super Kings’ official Twitter handle shared the video of his new look, in which the keeper-batsman looked unrecognizable as it was different to the ones before. The video is sure to capture the fans’ attention. Before this, MS Dhoni was seen driving a bike at his residence. On the same day, another clip surfaced in which he engaged in celebrating his birthday, which was on the 7th of July.

As far as the veteran cricketer’s international future goes, there exists no clarity. However, he will lead the yellow army in the IPL whenever the extravaganza takes place or in whichever venue. Dhoni is one of the most successful captains in the tournament history, captaining Chennai to three titles.
