MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma Among Others to Attend Virat-Anushka's Wedding Reception in Mumbai

The second leg of the grand reception of the celebrated couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma is all set to take place later on Thursday at St. Regis Hotel in Mumbai.

Notably, Virat and Anushka got married on December 11 at an 800-year-old palace in Tuscany, Italy attended by only close friends and family. The newlywed couple looked gorgeous in their wedding attire and was spotted enjoying each others company.

The first reception of Virat and Anushka took place at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi on December 21 which saw teammates Shikhar Dhawan, Gautam Gambhir, and Suresh Raina along with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance. The newlywed couple along with Shikhar Dhawan was also spotted dancing to the tunes of legendary Punjabi singer, Gurdas Maan.

The couple graced the occasion with Kohli wearing a bandhgala sherwani while Anushka chose to wear a red Benarasi saree for the function.

People from Bollywood and cricket fraternity are expected to attend today’s event. The Indian cricket team along with coach Ravi Shastri and other support staffs will grace the occasion.

The function will take place in the spacious Astor Ballroom of the St. Regis Hotel, which has a capacity of 300 guests and is located on level nine of the hotel. The prodigal venue has 23 foot-high ceilings and crystal chandeliers.

The ballroom has an area of 6,433 square feet and is divided into three sections, a long hallway, pre-function area, the central ballroom and the Astor Terrace. There are floor-to-ceiling windows that separate the ballroom from the Astor Terrace. The wedding reception will start from 8 pm onwards on Tuesday.

The Indian team will leave for South Africa on Wednesday to play three Test matches followed by six ODI’s and three T20Is. Anushka is also expected to travel with the team and return to India after spending the new year with her life partner.
