"You Can't....": How MS Dhoni Teased Ishant Sharma In IPL Last Year

MS Dhoni might get agitated but he knows how to control his temper. It made him come up as of the calmest character on the international circuit. But senior fast bowler Ishant Sharma revealed a different side of the former India captain. He recalled an incident from the Indian Premier League (IPL) last season and what it led to.

MS Dhoni used to make fun of me: Ishant Sharma

Ishant Sharma, who was plying his trade for Delhi Capitals, recalled a funny incident with MS Dhoni from the IPL last season. The tailender said, he was teased by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain, who said he does not has the ability to hit sixes.

Following the taunt, Ishant Sharma launched into all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, and dispatched him for a boundary and a six in the successive deliveries, leaving MS Dhoni agitated.

“Last year in the IPL, Mahi bhai (Dhoni) used to make fun of me that I can’t hit sixes, saying you don’t have that ability. Then came Jaddu (Jadeja) and I punished him for a four and then I launched a six. Then I turned my head towards Mahi bhai to see his reaction, who looked irritated with Jaddu.”

The unbeaten knock of 10 runs was perhaps Ishant Sharma’s best score in the IPL 2019 as he did not get to bat too often. He has featured 89 times in the lucrative tournament, scoring 55 runs, at an average below 10.
