MS Dhoni Voted As The Most Popular Indian Sportsperson

Former skipper MS Dhoni is voted as the most popular Indian sportsperson. In a recently held survey conducted by YouGov, it shows that Dhoni is at the top of the tree as far as any sportsperson in the country is concerned.

In fact, the Prime Minister of India, honorable Mr. Narendra Modi has only produced better numbers than Dhoni. Therefore, it goes to show the popularity of MS Dhoni.

Dhoni popularity hasn’t declined.

Furthermore, there were four million participants in the survey held by YouGov.

The survey shows that Dhoni has an admiration score of 7.7%. In fact, even Sachin Tendulkar who is regarded as one of the batsmen ever has an admiration score of 6.8%. Meanwhile, Indian skipper and one of the best batter of the current era, Virat Kohli received 4.5% of votes.

Meanwhile, there were doubts raised over the place of MS Dhoni in the team. In fact, there is no doubt that MS Dhoni power-hitting capabilities are on the wane. However, what he brings to the table as an experienced campaigner is priceless.

Dhoni had failed to rotate strike which had led to the build-up in the pressure. The veteran batsman had also struggled to get going against the opposition spinners

Furthermore, there were rumours spread that the wicketkeeper-batsman is contemplating retirement following his poor run of form. However, it should be also taken into consideration that MS Dhoni has always batted down the order. Thus, it is always a difficult job to bat lower down the order.

Moreover, Dhoni also lacked support from the other end in the recently concluded ODI series against England. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni was in great form in the IPL. Thus, he would like to hit the ground running in the coming series.
