It was a brilliant night for MS Dhoni at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, when he played a stunning knock for Chennai Super Kings against RCB. The flamboyant striker of the ball almost pulled out a victory from the impossible position. Meanwhile, the former wicketkeeper-batsman Kiran More lauds the class of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and calls him an essential gear for the upcoming grand event.

On Sunday night, out of nowhere, MS Dhoni took the game till the last ball before missing out one delivery in the end. It was all about that one inch, which saw Royal Challengers Bangalore coming out victorious after almost being the victim of MS Dhoni’s heroic knock.

MS Dhoni, who took the onus of finishing the game on himself, played a magical knock for the team. He scored those boundaries with ease before boiling it down to 2 runs off 1 ball. Shockingly, he missed the final delivery and Parthiv Patel was smart in hitting stumps to catch Shardul short of the crease.

MS Dhoni took me back to 2006 – Kiran More

Speaking of the knock, Kiran More quoted that the knock of Mahendra Singh Dhoni has taken him back to 2006. He recalled those days when the Ranchi dynamite used to smash the bowlers all over the park with his brilliant whacking of the ball.

“The innings took me back to 2006, and maybe around that time when a young Dhoni took the scene by storm. He will definitely be a vital cog for the Indian team at the World Cup,” International Cricket Council (ICC) quoted More as saying.

Further, Kiran More also highlighted that Dhoni once again proved that Age is not a matter when you got the form on your side. He believes that the great players will always end on a high note by delivering goods on a consistent basis.

“He was brilliant. It was an outstanding inning and only goes to show age is never a criterion. Dhoni is in top form and age is just a number. Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid all played till late in their career and with distinction,” More said.

Kiran More was the selector of India when MS Dhoni burst into the scene. The Jharkhand cricketer surprised everyone with his stunning knocks for the Indian National Cricket Team in 2005. Later, he smashed a blistering 183* to make a mark of his own in the international cricket.
