India’s chief selector, MSK Prasad has said that he is happy about how Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, and Shikhar Dhawan have progressed after suffering from injuries.

While Hardik and Bhuvneshwar have been away from the team since last year, Dhawan last played a game in January during the India-Australia ODI series.

Team India has been marred with injuries in recent times. India is one of the busiest teams in world cricket and they follow a very tight schedule across all formats. This has led to a lack of rest for the players and they have suffered from multiple injuries.

A recent example of the same is Rohit Sharma’s injury that he pulled off in the last T20 game against New Zealand.

Pacer Ishant Sharma suffered from an ankle injury but somehow managed to join the team for the Tests. However, his injury resurfaced after the first Test and he could not play the second game.

MSK Prasad Happy With Indian Players’ Rehabilitation:

“I am here to watch Shikhar Dhawan playing in the DY Patil tournament. I am here especially to watch Dhawan, Bhuvi, and Hardik. I am happy with the way they are progressing,” Prasad told ANI.

When asked whether his selection team would be picking the squad or the upcoming ODI series against South Africa, Prasad said, “I have no idea about that, we will have to wait for the instructions from the secretary and BCCI president. I am not in a position to answer this”.

Virat Kohli had a torrid tour:

Indian captain Virat Kohli had a forgetful season with the bat in New Zealand. He struggled for runs throughout the tour and it seemed that the old Virat Kohli who suffered in England way back in 2014, has risen once again

However, Prasad came to his rescue and said that Kohli has been a run-machine for India in the last few years and one bad tour doesn’t change anything.
