MSK Prasad Quashes Reports On MS Dhoni's Retirement

Ever since Virat Kohli posted the picture of him alongside MS Dhoni on social media, the reports took boost citing that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is going to call curtains on his career. However, the chief selector of the Indian National Cricket Team MSK Prasad revealed that there is no such news regarding the retirement of MS Dhoni.

In the morning, Virat Kohli posted a picture from the ICC T20I World Cup 2016, in which, he played a marathon knock for India. It was the game, which kept Virat Kohli’s brilliance on display alongside MS Dhoni, who played a perfect finisher role. Recollecting the moment, Virat Kohli posted the picture on social media.

However, when asked about the rumours doing the rounds, Prasad confirmed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has no information about any such development and that the news is not true.

No update on retirement news of MS Dhoni – MSK Prasad

Soon after announcing India’s 15-man squad for the Test series against South Africa, chief selector MSK Prasad was asked the burning question about the future of former Indian captain MS Dhoni. Surely, the answer from MSK Prasad would have eased the nerves of many fans, who are worried since morning.

Virat Kohli tweeted a picture from 2016, thanking Dhoni for making him “run like in a fitness test”. India defeated Australia by six wickets in their last group stage match to qualify for the T20 World Cup semi-finals. “A game I can never forget. Special night. This man, made me run like in a fitness test”, Kohli wrote with the picture.

Speaking of the same with the reporters on the eve of the squad announcement, the chairman of the selection panel, MSK Prasad quoted saying “No update on MS Dhoni’s retirement, the news is incorrect,” Prasad told reporters.

Currently, MS Dhoni is away from the game of cricket following the ICC World Cup 2019. He took a couple of months of Sabbatical leave and also made himself unavailable for the South African series. For now, the future of MS Dhoni is yet to be known.
