Former Indian Chief Selector MSK Prasad has opened up on his stint as the chief selector. Sunil Joshi and Harvinder Singh have fetched the roles in the All-India Senior Selection Committee – the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday announced that the three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) recommended their names.
Sunil Joshi has replaced MSK as the chairman of the selection committee. The other 3 members of the senior selection committee — Devang Gandhi, Sarandeep Singh and Jatin Paranjape — will continue and finish their terms by the end of 2020.
MSK Prasad Opens Up On His Stint As The Chief Selector
In an interview with TOI, Prasad has come up with multiple answers on his stay as the chief selector of the Indian National Cricket Team. Speaking on how difficult it was to replace MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh, Prasad said that both are legends of the game and no one can ever fill in the void that they left.
“MSD & Yuvraj are legends of Indian cricket and I don’t really see anyone stepping into those shoes so easily. It is tough to deal with it. Our fundamental job is to identify fresh talent, groom him and induct him when the need arises and that is what we have done,” Prasad said.

When asked about his most challenging phase as the chief selector, Prasad said, “Dropping Ashwin and Jadeja from white-ball cricket or preparing a successor for MS Dhoni— both were challenging as we are talking about legends who have been instrumental in taking Indian cricket to great heights.”
Suni Joshi Assumes The New Responsibility:
Sunil Joshi, who featured in 15 Tests for the national side, remains the prime candidate to replace the old selection panel.
While the durations for both Prasad and Gagan Khoda are already done, there exist few months Jatin Paranjape, Sarandeep Singh, and Devang Gandhi in the committee.

The Men in Blue’s next assignment would be three ODIs against South Africa after competing across three formats in New Zealand.
It is also understood that the new selection panel would pick the squad for the ODIs against the Proteas.
