Mumbai Indians has denied the reports of speeding up Hardik Pandya’s verdict. The Baroda all-rounder is currently suspended for his controversial statements on Koffee with Karan. It was reported by Times of India that the franchise wanted the investigation of Hardik Pandya to be done speedily. Thus, they had requested the Board of Control for Cricket to do the same.
However, Reliance Industries CEO Sundar Raman has denied any such reports. Meanwhile, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya were suspended for their comments on Koffee with Karan. Both of them also missed the ODI series against Australia. Furthermore, they were called back to India by the Indian board.
Hardik Pandya is crucial for Mumbai Indians.
Meanwhile, the matter has now gone from bad to worse. BCCI has appointed an ombudsman and both of these players will also miss the ODI series against New Zealand.
In fact, a lot of former players have condemned the slow process of the BCCI and CoA in coming to a conclusion regarding Rahul and Pandya’s punishment. It is also feared that both of them will miss more matches for the national team.
If both of them gets a long ban, they can also miss the upcoming Indian Premier League and World Cup. Both Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are crucial players for their respective franchise Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab.
Hardik Pandya is a regular member of the playing XI in the limited over format whereas Rahul is yet to secure his place in the white ball format on regular basis. Thus, Pandya is going to be a vital cog in India’s wheel for the upcoming ICC World Cup.
Meanwhile, Vijay Shankar and Shubman Gill were added to India’s squad after Pandya and Rahul were suspended. Shankar went on to make his ODI debut in the decider against Australia. On the other hand, Shubman Gill might get his opportunity on New Zealand tour after an impressive Ranji Trophy season for Punjab.
