Murali Vijay Names Australia Women Team's Star As One Of His Two Preferred Cricketers To Have Dinner With

With no action going on right now due to the coronavirus pandemic, a number of cricketers have been taking to social media platforms to spend their time at home. Just like anyone else, the cricketers have also been asked to remain indoors in order to fight against the pandemic.

In the last couple of weeks, the likes of Kevin Pietersen, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Yuzvendra Chahal, Yuvraj Singh and Jasprit Bumrah did live sessions on Instagram. And recently, out-of-favour India Test opener Murali Vijay had a candid chat with sports producer Rupha Ramani during an Instagram live chat for his IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.

During the interaction, Murali Vijay said he misses just going to the ground and playing cricket during the lockdown. The right-handed batsman said he spends most of his time at cricket grounds in Chennai. He also insisted that he is prepared to face anything in life after the Covid-19 crisis.

Murali Vijay was also willing to take quite a few questions from the fans. And during the interaction, hew was asked about two cricketers he would want to have dinner with. In reply, the star batsman said it would be Australia women’s cricket star Ellyse Perry and his fellow India opener Shikhar Dhawan.

“Ellyse Perry. I want to have dinner with her. She is so beautiful. And Shikhar Dhawan any day. He is a fun guy. Just that he will speak Hindi and I will be conversing in Tamil,” Murali Vijay said.

Meanwhile, Murali Vijay has not played for India since the tour of Australia in 2018-19 season. While he was an indispensable part of the Test team not very long ago, he lost his place after a lean patch. With the likes of Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma doing well and Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill waiting in the wings, it would be tough for Murali Vijay to earn a recall.
