Mushfiqur Rahim hit his third Test double century as Bangladesh declared their first innings with a lead of 295 Monday in their one-off match against Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh ended their innings on 560 for six in the final session before spinner Nayeem Hasan then claimed two wickets in two balls in the first over in Dhaka.
The visitors reached nine for two at stumps on the third day, still needing 286 runs to make Bangladesh bat again on a wearing pitch at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
Mushfiqur became the highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in Tests as he hit an unbeaten 203. Skipper Mominul Haque made 132 after the hosts resumed on 240 for three.
However, it was Mushfiqur’s celebration after the double-century that caught the eyes of the people and now he has revealed the reason behind it.

Mushfiqur Rahim Reveals The Reason Behind His Celebration
Mushfiqur said, “This double century is for my son. Thinking about him, I really celebrated. Now, his favourite thing is a dinosaur. So I was pointing to fear like a dinosaur.”
At the same time, Mushfiqur also said that after completing his century, he thought about the double century. He commented that he was able to reach that milestone with patience and attention on a perfect batting wicket.
He said, “After a hundred, it seemed that two hundred could be done only by keeping the wicket and patience. We usually don’t get such wickets. Today’s wicket was very good for batting. In addition, Zimbabwe’s bowling was not very challenging, really.”
