Mushfiqur Rahim Puts His Maiden Double Century Bat For Auction

Mushfiqur Rahim is one of the best batsman to have ever emerged from the cricket-mad nation that is Bangladesh. Out of the five double hundreds that Bangladesh batsmen have stroked in Test cricket, three of them have come from Rahim’s bat. His maiden Test double hundred came against Sri Lanka at Galle back in 2013 where he stroked a brilliant 200 off 321 balls.
And, now the Bangladeshi batting spearhead has decided to donate the bat with which he stroked that masterly double-ton in the wake of the the outbreak of the novel pandemic that is coronavirus [COVID-19].
Rahim said that while that bat is very special to him, considering the fact he became the first double-centurion from his country with it, nothing is more important than human life and that is precisly the reason behind him putting it into the auction.
“Definitely, the bat is very special to me because it is attached to history. Not everyone can become the first double centurion for his country. I had special liking for this bat. But there is nothing more important than human life and so I have decided to put it into the auction,” Mushfiqur Rahim said.

Will donate more if I get a good response at the Auction: Mushfiqur Rahim

The right-hander further revealed that if gets a good response in the auction, he will putting a few more possessions of his, under the hammer.
“If through this sacrifice I can help one or two people than that will be my biggest achievement. If I find a good response in the auction for the bat then I have got few more things that I will put up in the auction. I don’t think there is nothing important than helping out people during their time of distress,” the former Bangladesh captain added.
Besides holding the record for most double-hundreds for Bangladesh, Rahim also holds the record of the highest individual Test score [219], a feat which he achieved during a 2018 Test against Zimbabwe at Dhaka. Earlier, as many as 27 premier Bangladeshi cricketers including the likes of Tamim Iqbal had come forward to donate half of their monthly salaries to help fight the contagion that is COVID-19.
