India fast-bowler Mohammed Shami has been targeted by Muslim fanatics once again. In the past too, the pacer had to face this unpleasant situation on social media. Towards the end of 2016 and the first half of 2017, the right-arm fast-bowler was all over the news more for being attacked by the bigots than his cricketing feats.

A few slammed him for posting a picture of his estranged wife Hasin Jahan  in a sleeveless dress on Facebook and he was not even spared for celebrating his daughter’s birthday. While some were quick to remind him of his religious roots, some also went on to tell him to ensure his wife follows the Muslim rituals and wears hijab.

In the latest turn of event, Mohammed Shami was trolled by Islamists on Instagram after he posted a picture of his daughter standing at a Hindu puja ceremony. His young daughter was probably celebrating Saraswati Puja which took place last week.

“Looking so sweet beta love you so much god bless you beta see you soon,” wrote the doting father.

However, the post soon invited vile comments from the religious fanatics as a number of Islamists slammed Mohammed Shami.

“Muslims in India are turning into Hindus” wrote one while another wrote:
“Apne ap ko secular batane k liye ye sab karne ki zaroorat ni he..ham apne Hindu bhai se bhi mohabbat karte he lekin ye tariqa ni he unse mohabbat jatane k (you don’t need to do this to profess your secularism, we like our Hindu brothers but such things are not warranted)

Another one commented:

“Bhaiya kyu bagwaan ki pooja kar rahe hi (Brother why are you worshipping Hindu god) Aap muslim ho to beti kese hindu hai (You are a Muslim then why is your daughter a Hindu)”

One even went on to suggest the pacer that he should not write Mohammed in his name, commenting:

“Dear shami plz don’t write Muhammad with ur name it is our humble request Bhai aap Muslim ho yh sawaal apne aap se poocho (brother ask yourself if you are a Muslim or not)”
