Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hasan has stated that Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman won’t be allowed to play in any of the overseas T20 Leagues. The injury-prone fast bowler has not been able to play consistently for Bangladesh due to the continuous injuries he has sustained during his brief career.

He has been a vital member for any T20 teams in the franchise leagues. His fitness has been affected quite a bit due to his participation in the T20 Leagues. Mustafizur burst on to the scene not long ago. He bamboozled the Indian batsmen with his immaculate slower off cutters. He bagged 11 wickets in the 3 match series and won the Man of the Series Trophy.

However ever since his debut series, he has been suffering injuries on a  consistent basis. It has halted his progress quite significantly in international cricket. He has missed several matches in the past and needs serious improvement in his fitness. Hence the board has decided in not allowing him to participate in T20 Leagues across the world.

Nazmul Hasan speaks

”I have told him that he will not be available abroad [for franchise based tournaments] for the next two years,” Nazmul said on Friday.

”It cannot go on like this. He will pick up injuries while playing in the franchise league and won’t be available to perform national duty. It’s just not acceptable. It cannot go on that he will be undergoing rehabilitation to recover from injuries under the care of the board, join those leagues again only to have a similar fortune,” he said.

He had suffered his first injury back in 2016 in England. He was just into his career. Fizz suffered the injury while playing in the Twenty20 Blast. It was in 2017 that Mustafizur sustained a grade two lateral ankle injury. It also caused him to miss the start of the BPL 2017.
